Ameraucana
Eggs: Blue / Green
AKA: Easter egg layer. Good layers and produce eggs ranging from olive green to blue. They come in a variety of colors. Egg production is good, do well free range or confined, and are very cold hardy. Expect hens to weigh approximately 4 lbs and roosters to weigh approximately 5 lbs.


Rhode Island Red
Eggs: Large / Brown
Rhode Island Reds are the staple of backyard flocks. They are raised for their meat and eggs as well as show birds. They are very tolerant to h eat and cold Depending on the treatment they receive, hens can lay approximately 6-7 eggs per week. Expect hens to weigh approximately 6 ½ lbs and roosters to weigh approximately 8 ½ lbs.
Rhode Island Red Bantam
Eggs: Medium / Brown
Rhode Island Red Bantams are a deep mahogany color and have the old fashioned single red comb. They are good layers and are broody. They do well free range or confined. They are broody and are heat and cold tolerant. Expect hens to weigh approximately 2 lbs and roosters to weigh approximately 3 lbs.


Welsummer
Eggs: Large / Reddish Brown with Speckles
These deep dark reddish brown egg layers of Dutch origin are docile and friendly. They are occasionally broody and are cold tolerant. They do well in confinement or free range. Expect hens to weigh approximately 6 lbs and roosters to weigh approximately 7 lbs.




Red Star
Eggs: Large / Brown
Red Stars (AKA: Red Sex Links) are excellent brown egg layers! They are easy to handle. Hens are red feather birds with some white showing in the tail, neck and breast areas.Our Red Stars are bred here on the farm using a Rhode Island Red Rooster and a Rhode Island White Hen! Heat and Cold Tolerant. Expect hens to weigh approximately 5.5 lbs

Black Star
Eggs: Large / Brown
Black Stars (AKA: Black Sex Links) are excellent brown egg layers! They are easy to handle. Hens are Bback with orangish-gold coloring on the neck, breast and tail area. Our Black Stars are bred here on the farm using a Rhode Island Red Rooster and a Barred Rock Hen! Heat and Cold Tolerant. Expect hens to weigh approximately 5.5 lbs
